Drake On Overused Punchline Flow
These days, it seems as if nearly every song utilizes truncated similes. The style pioneered by Big Sean has been used by Jay-Z, Lil Wayne and most notably, Drake. In an interview with Allhiphop, Drizzy says he regrets adopting the flow but doesn’t mean to rain on anyone’s parade. Macy’s!

AllHipHop.com: How much do Young Money artists bounce off each other? I noticed you have similar inflections and cadences or rhyme patterns. I noticed this one thing that Nicki said, “It’s going down. Basement.”
Drake: Well, that flow has been killed by so many rappers. And, I never want to use that flow again in life. [Laughs] I wanted to take if off my album, because I was like, “I shut ‘em down. Onyx.” I hate the fact that that rhyme is still in there. To be honest, that flow, you can trace it back to like…I trace it back to Big Sean (artist on Kanye West’s G.O.O.D. Music). That’s the first guy I heard utilize that flow throughout the duration of a verse. I’ll give him that credit. I think Kanye got it from him. Me and Wayne found a dope way to do it. I don’t want to sound cocky, but the best way its been used was on “Forever.” Those lines just all individually make so much sense. They’re all punchlines. Then a bunch of rappers started doing it and using the most terrible references in the world. I don’t want to offend somebody…I hate that rappers picked that flow up. I wish they had left that for people that know how to use it. [They go like] “It’s a parade! MACY’S!”

Michael Jackson In His Own Words: Jay-Z, Biggie, Hip-Hop
Check out this candid 2001 interview from Vibe.com with the King of Pop himself, Michael Jackson. The interview is very interesting. Michael chats about N’Sync, B.I.G., Jay-Z, Hip-Hop and his thoughts on music in general. R.I.P. Michael Jackson!

How does it feel to be re-entering the market and competing in sales with likes of ‘N Sync and Britney, kids who were being born at the height of your fame?

Michael Jackson: It’s a rarity I think/ I had #1 records in 1967 and 69 and still entered the charts in 2001 in #1.  I don’t think any other artist has that range. It’s a great honor, I’m happy. I don’t what else to say. I’m glad people accept what I do.

What are your thoughts on the current state of R&B?

I don’t categorize music. Music is Music. They change the word R&B to rock and roll.  It’s always been, from Fats Domino to Little Richard, to Chuck Berry. How can we discriminate, it is what it is, it’s great music, you know.

Gabrielle Union, Dwyane Wade's Ex Wife, and Other Athlete Love Triangles

Dwayne Wade NBA Playoffs affairsWe're all familiar with Dywane Wade's uncanny ability to put up triple doubles with ease on the basketball court.

It's going to get him paid severely this summer. Unfortunately, he might be giving up a large chuck of that paycheck to his soon-to-be-ex-wife.

Wade's brazen flaunting of his relationship with silly-gorgeous actress Gabrielle Union has only added zeroes to his ex's payday.

Mrs. Wade filed a lawsuit in a Chicago court this week against Wade and Union, alleging that the "Bad Boys 2" star made a habit of shaking her moneymaker and other body parts in front of Wade's two young boys.

Reggae Artist Sizzla Arrested On Gun Charges

sizzla gun charge

When wil our artist learn, the police love watching you, love when you start slipping, love when they can treat a black millionaire like a common criminal. Let's get smart in 2010 and start hiring some bodyguards with at least a gun license, knife permit, whatever, just stay your a**es out of jail.///

Dancehall and reggae music is in trouble as yet another one of its stars is doing battle with the law.  As previously reported  Buju Banton was arrested December 10 after police say he conspired to buy more than five kilograms of cocaine from an undercover police officer and is currently fighting those charges.

Now adding his name to the list is Sizzla Kalonji.  Sizzla was arrested on Wednesday by Jamaica's St Andrew parish Central police following reports that gunshots were fired at a group of people at a river in August Town.

According to The Weekend Star, Crime chief for the division, Deputy Superintendent Derrick 'Cowboy' Knight, stated that the entertainer, born Miguel Orlando Collins, was taken into custody following the shooting incident.

Lil Wayne and Hip Hop artists remake We are the WorldMany famous hip-hop artists have come together to help remake “We Are The World” to raise money for Haiti.

Many famous stars, including Michael Jackson, Lionel Richie, Cyndi Lauper, Stevie Wonder, plus many more, worked together to create the original “We Are The World” song.
